Hello guys.  Just got a Mongoose Beast from Wallyworld last week. Ordered the blue one. Have not rode a bike in a long time. Wanted a bike for just around the neighborhood to get some exercise. Thought these bikes were cool. So far I have changed the seat to a Cloud 9 and removed the stickers. My first ride was rough. I found the bike very tough to pedal. I did order a 20 tooth cog to replace the stock 18 but have seen on youtube that a 22 would be better so I ordered one. My question to you that know is do I need to buy a longer chain ? If so how long ? Also can anyone tell me what size I need to order if I want to get a lay back seat post so I have more room ?  Thanks for your help.

when I replaced my rear cog I also replaced my chain with a KMC Z71 112 link chain, since then I have gone from a 32 tooth crank to a 46 to a 42 back to a 32 and I have had to add a couple of links or remove a few. I would suggest trying to use the stock chain if your just going to replace your rear cog, you might have to slide your rim and coaster brake bracket forward. I hope this was helpful !
