Winter Gear
« on: November 18, 2014, 01:05:09 pm »
Seeing that winter is here once again, I thought that this would be a great topic.
What do you use to keep warm while your out riding your bike and why?

After my long bike ride yesterday I have to say that I am very impressed with the Under Armour hood and gloves, I would however suggest carrying an additional pair of glove's to be sure that your hands stay warm. My 40 + mile ride took me over six hours yesterday between running errands and stopping for a coffee and a honey bun, after about an hour and half into my ride I did use the additional pair of gloves that I carry. Due to the 12 mph winds and the cold temperature my hands started to get cold but with a light weight pair of gloves over them I stayed warm and didn't lose much dexterity. I also tested out a few other products that I would highly recommend. Field & Stream hydroproof jacket and pants, 5.11 tactical  8" XPRT boots and  without doubt a must have if you are going to ride at night it's a light that's made by a company called Cygolite, the light that I use is a Tridenx LED 1300. This is the best light hand's down. You will be able to light up the night sky or you can point the light to the ground and set it to strobe mode and feel confident that the vehicles approaching will see you.

My ibera cell phone handlebar bag with stem mount arrived today.
I had to drill out the hole to make it large enough to accommodate the original stem bolt, the bolt that comes with the kit is to small.
